Paint protection film (PPF, often called clear bra) is a clear, durable urethane film applied over your paint. It takes the hits from rocks and road debris so your factory finish doesn’t. As Louisville’s STEK paint protection film installer, ProShield fits clear, self-healing clear bra film plotter-cut for your exact vehicle, helping stop the majority of rock chips so your paint stays looking new.
A thick, optically clear film fitted to your car’s panels. We install STEK PPF, the same brand as our window tint, with a self-healing, hydrophobic topcoat.
The urethane layer absorbs impact energy from gravel, sand and bugs before it reaches the clear coat. The self-healing topcoat lets light swirls and scratches in the film relax back out with heat, so the surface keeps its clarity.
Owners of new or high-value cars, anyone who drives I-65, I-64 or the Gene Snyder daily, sports and exotic car owners, and leased vehicles that need to come back chip-free. Pair it with ceramic coating for easier washing.
Rock chips are easy to get and costly to fix. Touch-ups and repaints add up, and refinished paint rarely matches the factory finish exactly. STEK paint protection film keeps your original paint intact, and original, chip-free paint is what buyers look for when it’s time to sell or trade in.
Takes the hits from gravel and road debris on the bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors.
Light swirls and scratches in the film relax back out with heat.
Water beads and rinses away, so bugs and road grime come off more easily.
Optically clear film keeps your paint’s color and gloss.
Helps keep original paint chip-free, a plus for leases and trade-ins.
STEK manufacturer warranty, plus our ProShield install guarantee.
Every pattern is plotter-cut with precise digital cuts for your exact vehicle, then fitted panel by panel in our Louisville bay, so edges are clean and the film is nearly invisible.

PPF takes the hits on the front end, and a coating makes the whole car easier to keep clean. System X rates its Max G+ coating for use over PPF, so we can coat the film along with the rest of your paint.
Matte and satin paint looks incredible, but it’s the hardest finish to keep perfect. Gloss paint can usually be polished or corrected when it gets scratched. Matte paint can’t: polishing adds shine and leaves a blotchy spot, so once a matte finish is scratched or chipped there’s really no good way to fix it short of a costly repaint.
That’s why we install STEK DYNOmatte on matte cars. STEK describes it as a matte paint protection film that matches a range of factory frost, frozen and matte paints, with a self-healing, hydrophobic top coat. It takes the rock chips and scratches instead of your paint, and keeps the satin look you paid for instead of making it shiny. It’s plotter-cut with precise digital cuts for your exact vehicle, just like our clear film.
Also have a gloss car you want to look satin? Ask us about matte film over gloss paint.
We check the paint and plan coverage with you.
Wash, decontaminate and correct the paint as needed.

Appointment-only slots mean your car gets the time it needs: careful prep, clean film, and edges finished right. Every STEK PPF install is backed by STEK’s manufacturer warranty and our install guarantee.

Hand wash with a pH-neutral car soap and soft mitt. Skip brush-type automatic washes.
When pressure washing, keep the nozzle back from film edges and don’t aim straight at them.
A ceramic coating rated for PPF, like System X Max G+, can make the film easier to clean.
PPF is a clear film applied over painted surfaces to help stop rock chips and damage from road debris in high-impact areas like the bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors.
STEK – the same brand as our window tint. STEK paint protection films are clear urethane films with a self-healing, hydrophobic topcoat. We’ll recommend the right STEK film for your car when you get a quote.
Yes. STEK paint protection films carry a STEK manufacturer warranty against defects such as bubbling, yellowing or cracking. The term depends on the film, per STEK’s warranty terms. ProShield also stands behind its installation work.
STEK PPF starts at $1,700 for a partial front (front bumper, full hood, headlights, fog lights and side mirrors), $2,200 for a full front (adds the full front fenders) and $3,000 for a track package (full front plus rocker panels, A-pillars, the front edge of the roof and rear quarter panels). Your final price depends on your vehicle and the coverage you choose. Get an exact quote through our quote form or booking page.
It depends on what you want to protect against. PPF is a physical film that helps stop rock chips on high-impact areas; ceramic coating adds gloss and makes washing easier but doesn’t stop chips. Many owners do both: PPF on the front end and a coating over the whole car.
Yes. System X lists its Max G+ coating for use on paint, wraps and PPF, so many owners pair PPF on high-impact areas with a coating for easier washing.
Yes. Matte and satin paint can’t be polished or corrected like gloss paint, so once it’s scratched there’s really no good way to fix it short of a repaint. We install STEK DYNOmatte, STEK’s matte paint protection film, which protects the paint from chips and scratches while keeping the matte look.
Yes. Clear bra is an older name for paint protection film. Early clear bras were partial front kits; modern PPF like STEK’s can cover anything from the bumper and mirrors to the full front of the car.
Quality film is optically clear and designed to be nearly invisible once installed, so the paint underneath keeps its color and gloss.
Yes, but the paint should be in good shape first. We inspect the finish and recommend decontamination and correction as needed, since film protects the surface it covers, including any existing defects.
It depends on coverage and the vehicle. A partial front is quicker than a full front. We’ll give you a timeline with your quote.
